Ghosty grew up surrounded by a plethora of music. From Ska, Reggae and Dub to Blues, Doo Wop, Rock and Roll and Psychedelia. Genres that would stay with him as he became a dedicated crate digger building his own extensive collection of Jungle, P-Funk, Electro, Hip Hop and anything under the sun that made the grade.
With the emergence of Jungle in the early nineties Ghosty turned to production whilst honing his skills as a turntablist. His studios have seen four major incarnations. The first was a den built under his bed, the second a windowless railway wagon followed by two dungeon like cellars. Dark places for dark business. This is not to say that Ghosty's music is without colour, as can be heard here, the light he conjures from the void shines all that much brighter.
Having run his own Jungle nights and supported some of Hip Hops biggest performers, by the naughties Ghosty turned solely to sound design and composition, signing with DC Recordings as Arcadion and releasing his own refreshing futuristic space funk. Returning to the dark side, 2013 sees the release of this LP: Hungry Ghost. A distinctly unique and timeless power house that defies definition and will bring any sound system to its knees.
BUT FIRST is the tasting of this WAVE SHIFTER EP! The sound is distinctly his own, dark, powerful, passionate, emotional, dusty not digital, crusty not physical just appirational.
